World Hepatitis Alliance Election Fraud?
After numerous attempts to seek resolution regarding this conflict of interest, including the lack of full disclosure and transparency; the hepatitis community has united, calling for the immediate resignation of Chris Taylor and NASTAD's representation as it is not serving the best interests of the Hepatitis C Community.

Petition-  Office of Government Ethics to begin an investigation into HCV research funding and potential conflicts of interests at the National Institutes of Health (NIH)- The HCV community is concerned that investments managed by the trans-NIH Institutes and Centers (ICs), may represent financial conflicts of interests through questionable grants and relevance to HCV disease study. ...The NIH has approved millions of dollars in HCV grants for HIV disease study. Subsequently, reported to congress as HCV specific research investment.

When will the NIH start enforcing its own conflict of interest
... according to The Wall Street Journal, are also investigating the failure of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to monitor and take action against serious conflicts of interest among doctors who receive NIH funding for their research. Sen. Chuck Grassley, the ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, recently issued a call for the NIH to revoke grants to academic scientists who fail to report financial conflicts of interest, according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.

In the Name of HCV- Millions of Hepatitis C Research Funding Dollars Hijacked
HepCop has publicly denounced the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for spending millions of dollars budgeted for Hepatitis C (HCV) on research for HIV/AIDS and other projects. One in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop cirrhosis and complications from Hepatitis C.  The NIH response- One research project totaling $156,104, out of the $92,000,000 funded projects.  


 

HepCop is a coalition of HCV advocates, organizations and individuals whose  mission is to expose erroneous discrepancies in federal funding for HCV.
